Improved Reminder Logic for Overdue Tasks

I’d like to suggest an enhancement to the current reminder system that I believe would significantly improve task follow-up and user experience.

At present, reminders can only be triggered as a task approaches, reaches, or slightly exceeds its due date. However, there’s no built-in way to continue sending reminders at regular intervals once a task is overdue. This limits the ability to maintain consistent follow-up, especially for tasks that remain incomplete well past their deadlines.

Proposed Enhancement: Introduce a configurable option such as:
“If task is overdue, then send reminders every [X days] until completed.”

This would allow users to:

• Maintain consistent communication for overdue tasks.

• Avoid over-notifying users who are still within their due date (as happens when using the “incomplete” status as a workaround).

• Customise reminder frequency based on urgency or workflow needs.

This small change could have a big impact on productivity and accountability, especially in environments where timely task completion is critical.
