Disable Registration emails on "Child Pathways" (optionally)

We use courses in different ways - where a single pathway might be allocated as a refresh - but it will also be included with a number of other pathways in a Parent Pathway like an Induction Programme. So we would want the registration notification email to be sent when the pathway is allocated out by itself - but not if it is assigned as a child pathway to a bigger programme. Currently the only work around I have found is to recreate the email template when assigning it singly and then immediately deleting it after its been sent.
