As of present, CV360 is giving the following advice in regards to linking to social media feeds on a CV, as provided in the attached screenshot. It specifies that adding social media can add 'depth and colour' to a CV, though this phrasing is very vague, and only loosely suggests that some profiles might not be professional in appearance.
Myself and my colleagues at our institution's career service all feel that we wouldn’t agree with this advice. Only in very specific situations, such as if one were applying for a creative role requiring a photography background, would we say that an alternative social media account could be worth including in a CV, and even then it would be very important to keep it professional.
Alternatively a link to an online portfolio might work better, though this should only be provided upon request. Adding social media links beyond LinkedIn run the risk of hindering applications by coming across too casually, or they simply may not be checked at all by employers, who have too little time when checking many CV’s for each job to be browsing social media pages of applicants too.
